4th edition is my current favorite but is only slightly beating 2nd edition.

My longest campaign was in 2nd edition as GM. What do you get when you have a zealot, a halfling barber-surgeon, a dwarf coachman, an elf thief, and a marine?

1st edition will always have a special place too since it the first version as a player.

I love how the adventures almost write themselves. As a GM, “what event would bring all these people together” is a terrific jumping-off point.

I would definitely say my favourite is first ed WFRP simply because I am a creature of nostalgia, and I love anything embodies that late 80s, early 90s feel.

WFRP 4th Edition is my favourite! While I like and find their own benefits each in 1st, 2nd and even 3rd (in a board-game-night sense), WFRP4 has it all for me and seems like the best balance and combination of things I and my players like. Best of all, adventures write themselves as long as there are enough ”toys” in each scene, and character creation really breathes life into the PCs.

Great article....helps me plan my spending! (How many hate comments didn't read to the end about the "loss of product") Big Fan of IM and Voll Adventures is a great book with beautiful art and some unique adventures that aren't just rehashs. Warhammer RPG is still so good!!!

I’m a fan of 4e. Complex systems. And a huge range of supporting books. The foundry modules are fantastic too!

Though I’ll confess I miss the sheer weirdness of the 2e career system.

My favorite versions of wfrp are 4e for the system improvements, and 1e for the old school vibe. I always leaned closer to the content from warpstone magazine because it was slightly more seperated from warhammer fantasy battle.

I'm tied between WFRP 4e and W&G, mainly due to a sentimentality for W&G as my first Warhammer RPG. But, I do prefer the rules and character creation of WFRP -- something about it just inherently makes sense from a playability and narrative building perspective!

I'm currently preparing to run a one-shot that will hopefully hook some players into a long term canpaign for WFRP 4e, so fingers-crossed that I get to see a lot more of the World That Was!

I was introduced to the Warhammer world via 1E WFRP, so the nostalgia always wins. Special shout-out to Drachenfels novel & the somewhat infamous Castle Drachenfels sourcebook.

I'd love to read the "Enemy Within" campaign for the Old World RPG. I'd probably pick the starter set and GM Screen and hope for a complete campaign reprint (I believe it was adapted to the latest edition of the game but the first volume remains, sadly, out of print).

Currently I'm following the Imperium Maledictum books. I love the grounded, every-day, feel of the imperium.

Hard pick between WFRP 4e (though waiting for 5e which is supposed to be compatible with 4e) and Soulbound but in the end I would say 4e.

1. I love medieval-type fantasy settings most so it fulfills the need

2. Really like the attack-parry/dodge resolved once via level of success (thinking about 2e)

3. I prefer the careers from 4e

4. It is still being updated by Cubicle7 and their books are awesome

Tough question, but probably WFRP 4e, but am keen to try Old World as sounds like keeps a lot of the spirit, but simplifies things which is great as i get older.

I love Dark Heresy, as my first step into the Warhammer World RPG, but right now I'd love to find out more about the Old World, as I love the setting ! Thanks a lot for the giveaway !

My favorite is still 1st ed of WFRP. It’s what I came up playing even before I had seen D&D and is still my favorite, though I’m GMing 4th edition right now to get a better feel for it.

My favourite so far is Warhammer fantasy Role play 4e but I'm really looking forward to what old world brings to the table

I've only played WRFP 4e, and have found it a lot more fun compared to other systems. I have the starter set for Imperium Maledictum to test out.

I'm more of a fan of the lore than the rules. That said, I am currently running WFRP 3E. I recently wrapped a 2.5 year campaign, Tim Eccles' excellent fan-made A Private War. But I used the Zweihänder rules. One of my players is a former Games Workshop staffer from the Baltimore HQ. He was also the first person in the US to have a copy of WFRP, which he still has. He called A Private War one of the best campaigns he ever played in.
