Sometimes after a large meal it’s good to take a little time to digest, and boy last week did we eat good.
For starters, the announcement of a new release from Cubicle 7 Games is always cause for excitement, and Imperium Maledictum GM’s in particular are already salivating over getting their hands on the Macharian Adversary Guide. Bestiaries are always popular offerings for any RPG, showcasing the myriad ways the world can menace and threaten its adventurers, and this should add a host of options to IM games.
Not only that, but there will finally be stats for Space Marines, and in the already-lethal Imperium Maledictum ruleset it’s hard to imagine foes much more intimidating than that. The players’ world is about to get much, much more perilous.

Meanwhile, the biggest news of the week continues to be the surprise reveal at the Big Autumn Preview of Warhammer Necromunda Roleplay.
Wargame Portal had a very solid breakdown of the reveals and what we know so far about the game, and general consensus seems to be leaning towards this being a full TTRPG release rather than just a board game with fleshed-out character persistence and skillup options across a chain of pre-made scenarios.
One of the most interesting choices from Games Workshop here is to package the release with miniatures- there are eighteen in the core Necromunda Roleplay box, all of them completely new. That makes it not only a product of interest to the RPG segment, but also Necromunda Skirmish players as well. Given that it also raises the barrier to entry for the game, I would expect that the rulebook will be available separately after the launch box’s initial release at some point.

Power By the People
It’s always great to see the RPG community bend their talents towards improving the experience of the games they love for others, and this week two different RPG apps made their debut.
WFRP adventures and campaigns databases
Over the years we have watched the same scene repeat itself: a GM asks "Where do I start?", "What works as a one-shot?", "Which campaign is worth it and how long does it take?" - and good answers show up, then drown in threads, and the next GM starts from zero.
So noted u/GrimDragonStudio this week in r/warhammerfantasyrpg, and it’s a problem common to all such forums. Helpful content posted by the community settles to the bottom like sediment, driven down by the content that follows.
To allow for a more persistent and accessible body of knowledge, they built a pair of databases (one for campaigns, and the other for single adventures). Each collects some basic info about the adventures and integrates community feedback to help GM’s find the right material for their table!
An Imperium Maledictum companion
A funny thing happened to u/Independent_Cookie this week, as related in the r/ImperiumMaledictum Subreddit. They’d been working on an unofficial companion app for their IM games when one day they experienced a sudden surge in traffic.
Turns out, someone else in the Subreddit had discovered it entirely by accident, then shared their find with the entire sub. “So,” they noted, “I guess this is the slightly-accelerated public beta!”
You can find the app here, and while still a work in progress it already has a number of features available for use including a rules-aware armory and persistent operative dossiers. Well worth a look!
RPG Bestsellers
Bookwriters get their New York Times bestseller lists, so why shouldn’t we enjoy the same thing? While we don’t have any aggregated sales lists, we can use DriveThruRPG’s top-seller list as a reasonable barometer- and here’s this week’s snapshot!

The two Polish translations we saw appear on the chart last week have dropped off, which isn’t terribly surprising; the Spanish ones we saw a few weeks ago didn’t linger long either. But overall, it was a week of predictable slippage for most Warhammer RPG books save one, and that’s the biggest chart news of the week. The Fifth Edition of WFRP is still holding firm at the top, and it will be exciting to see how long it manages to remain king of the mountain!

Careless Conjuration’s running series The GM’s Guide to the Enemy Within dropped its latest this week, covering Chapter 7 of Death on the Reik.
Not new, but new to me this week was a nice overview of the Imperium Maledictum Inquisition Player’s Guide by the wonderfully-named Reviews from R’lyeh!
