Last week we covered Dom and Pádraig of Cubicle 7 Games appearing on WarhammerTV’s Deep Strike, a show where they go into some of Warhammer’s many licensed products. It was a light, breezy chat for the better part of an hour largely aimed at folks who are fans of Warhammer but not necessarily into role-playing games.
This week both gentlemen sat down with Miniature Realms to dive into Warhammer: The Old World for about half an hour. This one is definitely aimed at a more experienced audience, and therefore much more nutrient-rich. While the PDF copies have been in circulation for awhile, this is the print debut of the new game system and host Stuart wanted to hear some thoughts and impressions from the both of them as it prepared to launch fully into the world.
I particularly enjoyed the section on what both guys were most proud of with TOW. For Pádraig, he noted that they’ve gotten a lot of positive reception to the bestiary section, which injects some personality into the different foes the party may face rather than just presenting generic mobs. In addition, he highlighted the “hit point free and consequence-dense” combat system, which Dom seconded as it helps the game feel suitably “dangerous” for players. There’s also a sneak peek at the upcoming Talagaad Adventures.
They also touched on WFRP’s upcoming 5th Edition, which Dom noted is “more of an evolution than a revolution,” and will be backwards-compatible with the current 4th. It’s a real treat, make sure to give it a look.

At the r/warhammerfantasyrpg subreddit, there was an interesting thread from someone interested in a Warhammer Fantasy RPG, but not sure which game to begin with. I always enjoy hearing veterans give their opinions of the different games and editions.
And while on the subject of interesting things on Reddit, here’s an Imperium Maledictum player-made campaign, The Glass Suture, that’s getting ready to be released by u/pjrgaming89. With adventure material for the game in short supply compared to other systems, it’s a welcome sight!
