I’m still a newcomer to the BL, but I started with the Eisenhorn Omnibus and loved every second of it! I just put it down before Magos to read the Ravenor Omnibus, and it’s looking to be just as thrilling of a ride! I’m looking forward to seeing how the Bequin trilogy is after finishing these, but I haven’t been lucky enough to score any physical copies yet.

Good preparation for the third book in the Bequin trilogy's release, Pandemonium, which I keep having a suspicion will be at least announced this year. Fingers crossed!

I really only started reading Warhammer last year, and while 2025 took me through the Horus Heresy, I've gotten more into the happenings of the 41st millennium this year. ADB's Spear of the Emperor is my highlight so far, and I also really enjoyed Fehervari's the Reverie. And I agree with mr. Swallow on Taker of Heads, I keep recommending it to my friends whenever we get to talking about BL's audio dramas.

Now I definitely have to get that one! Speaking of audio and ADB, I loved the audiobook of Emperor’s Gift, will have to add Spear to my “tbl pile” 🤘

In January, I finally finished the Dark Coil omnibuses, and they have been stellar. Since then, I unfortunately had very little time for reading, although that didn't stop me from filling up my library some more.

Nothing wrong with stockpiling for a rainy day! When I get asked if I'll ever read all the books in my library, I say probably not, but I'll usually be able to find JUST the book for my mood when I need it. :D

Favorite book this year was Outer Dark. I love picking up the lore of the Carcharadons! Looking forward to starting Void Exile

MacNiven is so good at writing those esoteric Chapters like the Carcharodons and Exorcists, isn't he? Was worried he was going to make a misstep with the Navy (Vagabond Squadron) but it turned out to be some of his best work, too!

ive been slowing down on my warhammer reads this year since i powered through the heresy and the siege last year but so far storm of iron was my favorite. i adore the iron warriors so i had to read their staple novel

You must be living your best life right now with the Iron Warriors narrative comeback with Reign of Iron, and I also enjoyed them recently in R. S. Wilt's Final Deployment. An underutilized faction!

absolutely! i actively gasped and almost leaped for joy when official daemon perturabo art was revealed in the warcom article lol

Best book so far this year has been Dead Men Walking by Steve Lyons. Such a great depiction of the Kreig and the Necrons. Wish they would reprint it again in some way so more people could read it.

The only one of Lyons' Krieg books I haven't read yet! Technically they DID recently reprint it... as a Limited Edition tho :D

Already have the Celebration book, so no need to include me in the giveaway. But the best book I've read so far in 2026 is The Magos. I finished Ravenor Returned and Rogue earlier this year and just finished The Magos as I make my way through the Inquisition Cycle. Next up, Pariah! Looking forward to all the columns posted here moving forward!

Thank you! I'm actually not too far behind you there as I've recently completed my reread of the Eisenhorn trilogy. Couldn't resist with those Illustrated and Annotated Editions, and will be sneaking in Ravenor when I get the chance.

I’m actually “reading” The Infinite and The Divine I&A simultaneously as well! Only because I recently read the paperback edition in December, so it’s still fresh in my memory. So I’m skimming it and reading every annotation. One thing I noticed is how many annotations there are in it compared to The Lords of Silence and Hereticus. Both of those have like ~80 annotations whereas this has somewhere around 250.

That seems on-brand for Rath, who also writes for a history podcast on the side. I'm looking forward to reading it, it's the next book after the one I'm currently working through

Best BL book I’ve read this year so far is easily Dropsite Massacre. I especially like those books where the author comes across as just as much of a fan as anyone else.

Amazing book, what I particularly enjoyed was watching it win over a lot of readers who initially dismissed it because they felt that there weren't any new stories worth telling there.

I would love to see this done with the first 5 books. My understanding is that they feel rushed in terms of the wider series since GW originally thought to tell the story of the Heresy in just a handful of novels. But to see some authors flesh them out in the way JF has done with DM would amazing. Same goes for some of the entries that look a bit out of place and/or too bare bones, like Descent of Angels.
