Hello and welcome, readers!
If you’ve followed my byline over the last year, you know me as the Black Library and lore correspondent for Goonhammer. There I’ve penned loads of book reviews, written articles about Black Library history and collection, and- up until recently- authored the Black Library Weekly column that came to you every Monday with all the news, announcements, and happenings of the week.
When I announced that Goonhammer was discontinuing my column, many of you commented and reached out to express your disappointment at losing this weekly staple, so I’ve launched this Substack to keep the spirit of Black Library Weekly alive and well. To be clear, I’m still happily onboard at Goonhammer with other content; this will be a home for all the things I want to write about that just aren’t a fit over there.
You can expect all your favorite segments to make the jump right alongside me. We’ll still be doing our “Quick Hits” news roundups, catching up on the best community content in “ICYMI”, and spotlighting authors’ personal hobby projects in “Writers Are Fans, Too”. We’ll also continue our deep dives into the art of book collecting with Black Library Bibliophiles and keep exploring the 40K History of the Black Library- other subjects that might not have been the best match there but that I love to write and passionately believe in.
Whether you followed me over from the old column, from my Bluesky account, the Black Library Nutters Facebook group or BL subreddit, thank you from the bottom of my heart for your continued support. Feel free to subscribe button so you never miss a thing, and let’s keep exploring the Mortal Realms, the World of Legend, or the grim darkness of the far future together.
And as always, happy reading!

This is very exciting for me! I am looking into exploring more in depth coverage of the Black Library!
Subscribed and enthusiastic about this. Let us know if/when you figure out a guest posting policy, I’d love to submit some write-ups
