I’m both impressed and disappointed with the joytoy helmets. They are amazing to look at, but for the price tag I was hoping for some better internals.
It’s definitely a contrast between how it looks on the outside versus the inside, not quite a “fake it til ya make it” vibe but not entirely far from it, either. In fairness, a lot of cosplay operates under a similar ethos. Still, I do think it helps keep the price point down, though, and as a static display item it’s pretty arresting.
